Keep the main thing the main thing

The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing Years ago the Lord had given me a message that dealt with many of the Subtle tactics of Satan and how he used these things to lead us to forsake our protective measures like standards, the Word of God, self examination, prayer, separation etc One point of that message which was really a series in the making was that Satan distracts us from the best things by making us busy with “good things” and another was that we are losing our missions focus by redirecting our attention to various causes – social, humanitarian, fighting diseases, political struggles etc Not only that and perhaps even more important (something that feeds the other problem) is that we are losing our power in ministry – both in our local churches and on the mission field because we are seeking the latest methods, philosophies, demographics and programs rather than using the tried and true method of following God’s word – in intercessory prayer, in separated and holy living, in fervent and selfless witnessing and missions involvement etc The fire is gone from so many of our pulpits across this country today – churches are dead all over the place - they are either filled with the elderly that have retained the traditional, conservative ways but there are no youth - or a young crowd that is busy but there is no difference between them and the world – not in dress, not in music, not in personal interests Missions is a program and not a personal obligation and duty to every believer – there are not churches filled with people being trained, fully surrendered and sent out the way they once were There are not people willing anymore to go without the luxuries of life in order to further support I wrote this several years ago, somewhere amid the deputation process. How 3 years, major trials and a big old dusty shelf change things. Not the truth of this or any other biblical principle but, well... Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement...
